Many practice it even before knowing that “that” has a name
Is an activity which mastering requires practice and perseverance
The “Molicie” is one of the less hidden secrets of Nabia because practically everyone that comes to Nabia practices it, even before knowing that “that” has a name. The “secret” is to know what has Nabia to foster with same strength than subtleness to the active and willing practice of the Molicie.
Have you ever met, when coming to Nabia, any other guest sitting somewhere in the garden, staring at the infinite of the Tietar Valley and with a smile in the face? Ah! So it was you!
Yes, it’s a wonderful side effect of Nabia… or maybe is something more than that, it’s a part itself of Nabia’s soul… that’s why we know that many practice it even before knowing that “that” has a name.
It has a name
According to the Dictionary of the Royal Academy for Spanish Language, “molicie” means “Invincible abandonment to the pleasure of the senses or to a pleasant laziness”.
According to our friend Chema, in the Greek islands it means “the art of doing nothing in an active way”.
We understand it as an actual, conscious and willing activity which consists on doing nothing.
It’s not a waste of time but to earn it, earn time by liberating ourselves from the occidental compulsion of being constantly doing something.
Earn it for resting, for the peace of mind of relaxing contemplation of the natural surroundings that embraces us.
The spare time stress is far worse than that of working stress, the compulsory need of “make the most” with our spare time because it is very limited and we “have to” do a lot of things to feel we have really made the most of it.
Into Practice
Here in Nabia, we have met some couples with a schedule tighter than a Minister one. They are constantly coming in and out to tick out every accomplished activity…
But this is one of Nabia’s secrets… an intrinsicall part of the Soul, that non-entity ubiquitous which wraps in our guests and prevent them to start their activities, that makes them let themselves being carried by “abandonment” and finally being unable to accomplish any of their plans, but to enjoy their stay the most. Nabia fosters you to stop and start enjoying the Molicie.
We’ve seen our guests sitting by the garden, staring at the infinite of the Tietar Valley with a smile on their faces… or wandering by our surroundings and coming back to the hotel for a second “siesta”
Or they are at the living room with an open book in their hands and their gaze lost, lost for the book but earned for the peaceful moment.
We love the “molicie” at Nabia and we recommend it to all our clients. Dare to try for a while, you can always go back to your activities list if you need to.
